PSW / Companion Contractor – Support for Neurodivergent Adult (London, ON)
Position: Independent PSW / Companion Contractor Employer: Micro Board (Non‑Soliciting Federal Corporation) Location: London, Ontario Contract Type: Fee for Service (Independent Contractor)
Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable PSW or companion to support a neurodivergent adult woman with a developmental disability, anxiety, and depression. She has low physical support needs and is largely independent in daily living, but benefits from emotional encouragement, structure, and support with community participation.
This is a relationship‑based, companionship‑focused role centered on promoting independence, confidence, and quality of life. No physical care is required.
Schedule
- Three 8‑hour shifts per week
- Flexible daytime or early‑evening hours
- Services are provided only Monday–Thursday
- No weekend, overnight, or 24/7 coverage
- Exact scheduling coordinated with the contractor
Key Responsibilities
- Companionship & Emotional Support — supportive presence, conversation, encouragement
- Daily Structure & Gentle Prompting — reminders, planning, routine building
- Community Outings — appointments, activities, events (mileage paid)
- Light Housekeeping — tidy up, organization, simple tasks
- Meal Support — prompting, light prep, assisting client preference
- Errands & Grocery Shopping
- Social Engagement Support — helping build community connections
- Life Skills Support — organization, planning, budgeting, problem solving
- Safe Transportation — driving to medical, therapy, and community appointments
Contract Details
- Independent contractor (not an employee)
- Fee‑for‑service arrangement
- Mileage paid for all client‑related travel
- Stable, long‑term engagement
- Flexible scheduling within the Monday–Thursday window only
Requirements
- PSW, DSW, SSW, EA, or relevant experience (lived or professional)
- Valid driver’s licence & reliable vehicle
- Ability to work independently
- Clear communication skills
- Comfortable supporting neurodivergent adults and individuals with anxiety/depression
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain)
