Work Schedule:
Thursday - Saturday 16:15 - 19:00, Sun 10:15 - 18:45, Monday 6:30 - 13:30 & 16:15 - 19:00. total of 27.40 hours per week.
Pay:
Starting wage is $21.50
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Senior Hospitality Manager, the Food Service Worker takes orders and serves meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner as outlined in the standards manual. Delivering outstanding service and exceeding the residents and guest expectations. Support meal setup and preparation across a variety of food service areas, including any clean up. The Server may be required to deliver tray service or assist with any private dining functions or other related events that include food services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous food service experience and valid Standard First Aid, and CPR-C certification.
- Food Safe Certification – Must complete within 90 days of hire if not already completed.
- Serving it Right Certification.
- Physically able to lift heavy items and stand or walk for long periods.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; team-oriented and self-motivated
- Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, organization, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Effective communication, active listening, conflict resolution, and collaboration
Note: At Berwick we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. A current TB test and criminal record check are also required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults.
