As a Night Auditor, you will provide superior customer service and specialized services to the front desk and night audit functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides customer service and handles administrative duties, such as the check-in and check-out of guests, handling guest concerns, assisting with the arrivals and departures of groups and tours, and luggage storage
- Develops and analyzes statistical tracking methodologies
- Prepares and ensures accurate billing, records and reconciliations
- Follows established procedures and policies when completing tasks
- Ensures that all audit and accounting procedures are completed in a timely manner during shift (i.e. computer resets, credit card reconciliations, system back-ups)
- Reviews daily arrivals list and checks VIP notes and other special guest requests.
- Provides check-out services to departing guests, ensures that all accounts and payments are correct
- Confident and knowledgeable of the hotel’s immediate area and local attractions
- Recognize Coast Rewards Members; Enroll new guests into Coast Reward Membership program, describe the benefits and values of being a Coast Reward Member.
- Responsible for the security and safety of the property, the Ambassadors and guests when completing tasks
- Ensures that credit procedures meet hotel standards and rate discrepancies are reported to Rooms Division Manager
- Ensures that audit work is in accordance with direction from Hotel Accounting Manager
- Demonstrates knowledge about local situations and activities (i.e. events and security concerns such as theft) and how they may impact guest services; informs others as appropriate
- Operates within boundaries of authority and adheres to company policies and practices
- Maintains health and safety standards and complies with all regulations
- Other duties as required
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- Two or more years previous hotel experience and/or customer service experience preferred (preference given to front line hotel experience)
- Working toward completion of a diploma or degree in Hospitality, Hotel or Tourism Management preferred. Secondary school diploma required
- Intermediate knowledge of front office systems, budgeting and accounting procedures
- Intermediate level in the use of MS Office Suite and proficient in keyboarding and computer applications
- Excellent verbal and written English required
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Professional appearance and attitude; bondable
- Ability to multi-task and take initiative to problem solve, experience with conflict resolution
- Ability to work overnight.
