NXR Transport is hiring a Class 1 driver for short-haul US runs to the East Coast and Midwest. Home every weekend.
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various US routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work with a professional team in a dynamic environment, utilizing your driving skills and knowledge of heavy equipment operation. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, excellent driving records, and the ability to handle physical tasks associated with freight transportation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and regional freight deliveries.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or report issues requiring repair, including automotive repairs or minor troubleshooting.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight, utilizing heavy equipment when necessary.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, and clients to coordinate delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid US visa or Canadian passport (required to cross the border)
- Fluent English (verbal); bilingual candidates welcome
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Clean driving record, no criminal record
