We operate approximately 50 trucks and specialize in cross-border LTL and truckload transportation throughout Canada and the United States. Our fleet includes both reefer and dry van equipment, supported by a stable customer base and a reputation for reliable, professional service.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cross-Border Truck Dispatcher to join our operations team. This role is responsible for coordinating drivers, managing freight movements, ensuring on-time service, and maintaining strong communication with customers, drivers, and operations personnel.
This is a full-time day shift position with participation in a rotating weekend on-call schedule as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch and manage local and cross-border drivers.
- Coordinate LTL and truckload freight movements.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries to meet customer requirements.
- Monitor reefer temperatures and freight status.
- Optimize routes and equipment utilization.
- Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, delays, and customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot service issues, border delays, and operational challenges.
- Ensure accurate shipment tracking and documentation.
- Utilize dispatch and transportation management software to manage daily operations.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and customer service teams to ensure efficient fleet performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of cross-border dispatch experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian customs procedures, including ACE, ACI, and FAST.
- Experience coordinating LTL freight and consolidation.
- Experience with reefer freight operations.
- Knowledge of Hours of Service regulations and driver scheduling.
- Proficiency with trucking software; experience with Fleet Manager is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset and attention to detail.
