We are a growing company seeking a motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced technicians to gain hands-on training installing and supporting security and communication systems.
This position has clear pathways for career advancement to Senior Technician or Specialist roles.
Responsibilities
- Installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on low voltage systems in commercial environments including CCTV, security systems, access control, and network infrastructure. Includes occasional work on commercial fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure proper operation of installed equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform cabling, wiring, mounting, and system setup tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and system configurations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and electrical codes during all phases of installation and maintenance.
- Safely operate a company work van to travel between job sites and the company office; maintain responsibility for the vehicle’s readiness by keeping it clean and organized, ensuring it is stocked with required tools and materials, fueling as needed, and completing routine inspection checklists to confirm safe operating condition.
- Participate in an occasional on-call rotation to provide support outside regular working hours, as required.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma (mandatory); completion of college-level courses in electrical, network communications, or a related technical field is considered an asset.
- Previous field experience with electrical systems, CCTV, building technology systems, or telecommunication infrastructure.
- Junior security technicians looking to advance their careers are highly encouraged to apply. We will provide field training on the specialized systems we work with, building on your existing experience.
- Possess strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate software, spreadsheets, document work performed, and configure devices.
- Knowledge of blueprint/floorplan reading, schematics, and knowledge related to low voltage systems.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and installation techniques for low voltage wiring.
- Communicate fluently in English; French language skills are considered an asset.
- Possess a valid Ontario G-class licence or equivalent and must have a clean driving record to be commercially insured.
- Must have a clean criminal record in order to be eligible for security clearance.
