Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Montessori Infant/ Toddler Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children and have a strong foundation in early childhood education. This role works with the Infant/ Toddler age, 12 months through 3 years old. The Assistant will support classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and help support students. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with children. Wage enhancement (WE) available to qualifying candidates.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities in the classroom as per the Guides instructions and within the Montessori Pedagogy.
- Communicate effectively with students to promote understanding and engagement.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with Guides and other staff members to enhance the educational experience for all students.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to Guides regarding individual needs.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles is required.
- Strong communication skills are essential for this role.
- An understanding of Montessori Pedagogy an asset.
We are looking for individuals that meet the following criteria:
- BC ECE (Early Childhood Educator) or IT (Infant Toddler) Certification
- First aid/CPR Child Care level or willing to obtain
- Criminal Record Check
- Two character references
- Immunized as per VCH regulations
- Must be able to work in Canada - no sponsorship available for this position.
