What You'll Do:
As a member of the Chancellor Park interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will:
- Ensure resident care is provided within established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies.
- Observe, report and record vital signs, symptoms and conditions of residents, and initiate remedial health measures where appropriate. Assure observance of required techniques in nursing care.
- Assess residents and help develop, implement, review and evaluate resident care plans.
- Monitor residents’ health, notes changes in condition and assess need for referral to doctors; processes and implement physician orders.
Hours of Work:
Full-time positions are scheduled between 60 and 75 hours bi-weekly. Shift lengths may be 8 or 12 hours depending on operational requirements. Part-time and Casual positions also include 4 hour shifts.
Positions may include rotational shifts consisting of a combination of:
· Days
· Evenings
· Nights
· Weekends
· Holidays
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking caring, dependable, and resident-focused individuals who are committed to providing high-quality care. Qualifications include:
- Completion of an approved Practical Nursing Program from a recognized institution (or recognized nursing education);
- Current licensure with the College of Nurses of Newfoundland & Labrador (CNNL) or eligible for the same;
- Current FA/BLS certification is required;
- Gerontology and/or palliative care experience is considered an asset;
- Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required;
- Demonstrated initiative, and the ability to work independently;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment;
- Certificate of Good Conduct, including Vulnerable Sector Check;
- Medical Certificate including evidence of TB testing and immunizations;
- Satisfactory attendance and performance record.
