ABOUT US:
Founded in 1982, the Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre (RRCRC) is a dynamic community-based organization dedicated to building a healthy, inclusive, and resilient community. Located in Ottawa's Ward 13, we provide a diverse range of programs and services that empower residents, strengthen community resilience, and promote social inclusion.
Our work includes food security initiatives, poverty reduction supports, crisis intervention, community development, children and youth programming, social enterprises, and the operation of a community social innovation hub. Supported by a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and community leaders, RRCRC develops and delivers innovative programs that respond to emerging community needs and create meaningful opportunities for residents to thrive.
Recognized for its collaborative and forward-thinking approach, RRCRC is committed to creating lasting community impact. Guided by our strategic priorities of enhancing community capacity, strengthening sense of belonging, and increasing access to resources, we meet community members where they are, working alongside them to build on existing strengths, address barriers, and create pathways to opportunity, inclusion, and well-being.
A key focus of our work is the development of an integrated, community-based food system that improves access to healthy food while creating opportunities for residents to participate, learn, contribute, and lead. This food security ecosystem includes the Community Food Bank, Ottawa Good Food Box, Social Harvest Urban Farm, Chez-13 Community Kitchen, community meal programs, and a range of complementary poverty reduction and community initiatives that work together to improve food security, strengthen community connections, and create pathways toward greater well-being and self-sufficiency.
THE ROLE:
The Team Lead: Community Food Bank plays a key leadership role in advancing RRCRC's mission to reduce poverty, strengthen food security, and support community well-being. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and community-minded leader who enjoys working directly with staff, volunteers, community members, and partners to oversee one of RRCRC's largest and fastest-growing programs, serving thousands of community members each year.
The Team Lead provides leadership and oversight for all Community Food Bank operations, ensuring services are responsive, client-centred, dignified, and data-informed. The position is responsible for staff and volunteer leadership, operational planning, inventory and distribution systems, performance monitoring, continuous improvement, partnership and resource development, as well as program sustainability.
Working closely with RRCRC leadership, community members, volunteers, donors, funders, and community partners, the Team Lead identifies emerging needs, develops innovative solutions, and helps shape the future of food security services in our community. The role works collaboratively across RRCRC's food security initiatives and beyond, including the Community Food Bank, Good Food Box, Social Harvest, Chez-13 Community Kitchen, and community meal programs, to create integrated pathways of support, maximize community impact, and strengthen food security outcomes. It combines hands-on operational leadership with strategic thinking, community engagement, and a commitment to creating meaningful impact for individuals and families facing food insecurity.
This position requires the employee to work in person at the Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre.
