Journeyperson Electrician (Commercial) – Nunavut, Northwest Territories & Alberta

Nexphase Electric is looking for an experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our growing team. We specialize in commercial electrical construction and service work throughout Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, with occasional projects in Alberta.

Compensation
· Starting wage: $45.00/hour
· Overtime paid after 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
· Travel provided for remote projects
· Living Out Allowance (LOA) or meals provided, depending on accommodations
· Opportunities for wage increases based on performance, leadership, and technical ability
For our northern projects, typical rotations are 28 days on / 14 days off, allowing for extended time at home between projects.
About the Role
Our work requires electricians who are comfortable working in a wide variety of commercial environments, from schools and healthcare facilities to municipal buildings and other institutional projects. Many of our jobs are in remote communities where planning, independence, and professionalism are essential.
The successful candidate must be capable of working independently when required while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
· Journeyperson Electrician certification
· Experience in commercial electrical construction
· Valid driver’s license
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Ability to travel and work rotational schedules in remote communities
Experience with the following systems is required:
· Three-phase power distribution
· Single-phase electrical systems
· Commercial lighting systems
· Lighting control systems
· Fire alarm systems
· Security systems
· Fiber optic installations and terminations
· Cat6 structured cabling and data communications
