Sales Consultant - Kitchens, Closets, and Custom Cabinetry
Dream Spaces designs, builds, and installs custom kitchens, closets, and cabinetry across Southern Ontario. We manufacture in our own facility in Barrie, which means the design you sell is the product we build - no middleman.
The role we're offering is an in-home design and sales position. You'll meet homeowners in their own space, take the measurements, design the solution with them on site, and close the sale.
You'll be working in Mozaik, our CNC design software, drafting live in the home. Clients see their actual space take shape while you're standing in it, and what you draw flows straight through to our production floor. If you've used Mozaik before, say so - it's uncommon and we'll want to talk to you. If you haven't, no worries - we're happy to train.
What You'll Do
- Run in-home consultations from pre-booked appointments — we generate the leads, you convert them
- Measure accurately in the field, including awkward and out-of-square spaces
- Design in Mozaik on site and present the solution while you're with the client
- Price the job, handle objections, and close
- Stay connected with your clients from deposit through to installation, communicating with our internal team to ensure seamless project execution
- Follow up on quotes that didn't close the first time
What We're Looking For
- Experience in commission sales, ideally in-home, renovation, or a considered purchase with a longer decision cycle
- Comfort designing in front of a client rather than going away and coming back
- Accurate field measurement — this is a precision skill and mistakes cost us real money
- A valid Ontario driver's licence and a reliable vehicle (you'll be using your own!)
- Availability for evening and weekend appointments, because that's when homeowners are home. Appointments usually start as early as 9:00 a.m. and as late as 4:00 p.m., with flexibility to see our clients when they want to be seen. Your schedule can run either Thursday - Monday or Friday - Tuesday, your choice.
- An eye for what a space could be, and the patience to explain it to someone who can't picture it yet
Experience with Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, or similar CNC-integrated design software is a significant advantage, but we're looking for successful salespeople. Kitchen or closet industry background is welcome but not required - we'd rather have someone who can sell and learn the product than someone who knows cabinets and can't close.
What We Offer
- Base salary of $36,000 plus bonuses/commission that start immediately. This is a commission role - the base is a floor, not the target. Yearly earnings are expected to be upwards of $80,000.00.
- Design live, close on the first visit. Mozaik means you're not going away to draw something and coming back to a client who's cooled off or called competitors. You present and close while you're standing in the kitchen - which means you get paid sooner.
- T2200 for vehicle expenses. You'll use your own vehicle, and we complete the CRA form that lets you deduct your work-related expenses - fuel, insurance, maintenance - as employment expenses on your personal return. We also provide gas gift cards to help with fuel between appointments.
- Full training on Mozaik and our product line, with constant in-office support.
- Group health benefits, with 50% of premium contributions paid by the company.
