Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 Long Haul Company Driver to join our transportation team. This position involves operating tractor-trailers across long-distance routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight. The ideal candidate will possess extensive driving experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to handle various types of cargo including refrigerated and freight loads. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers across long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport diverse cargo including refrigerated goods and general freight efficiently and securely.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Plan routes effectively for timely deliveries while considering traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during trips.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving, freight delivery, and handling various cargo types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to long-haul trucking.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively on extended routes.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or overnight trips as needed for long-haul operations. This position is integral to our logistics operations, requiring dedication to safety and efficiency while providing excellent service across our delivery network.
