We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the safe and successful execution of nuclear construction projects across Ontario. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field activities, managing construction teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, extensive nuclear construction experience, and a proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams in highly regulated environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Leadership & Execution
- Lead all on-site construction activities while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensure project execution aligns with approved scope, schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Monitor field activities and provide daily oversight of construction operations.
- Participate in construction kick-off meetings and ongoing project planning activities.
- Coordinate construction activities between multiple trades and disciplines.
- Identify and resolve field execution challenges to maintain project progress.
- Communicate project impacts, design deviations, and emerging issues to project leadership.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all site safety procedures, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support safe work planning, pre-job briefings, tailboard meetings, and post-job reviews.
- Promote and enforce nuclear safety culture principles and ALARA practices.
- Ensure all workers, contractors, and subcontractors adhere to site safety expectations.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure construction activities meet established quality standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve deficiencies and maintain compliance.
- Verify work is completed according to approved drawings, procedures, and client requirements.
Resource & Contractor Management
- Manage subcontractors and external service providers throughout project execution.
- Coordinate labour resources to support project schedules and deliverables.
- Identify resource constraints and collaborate with project teams to develop solutions.
- Support workforce planning and manpower forecasting activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, project teams, union representatives, and site leadership.
- Participate in project planning and progress meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates regarding project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop field supervision and construction personnel.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Identify training and development opportunities for team members.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered.
Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience leading construction projects in nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments.
- Proven experience managing field execution activities, construction teams, and subcontractors.
- Experience supporting nuclear generating stations, refurbishment projects, outages, or major capital projects.
- Experience working within unionized environments is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of nuclear industry practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of construction management principles and project execution methodologies.
- Familiarity with radiological controls and ALARA principles.
- Working knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, and quality requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

Pay: $150,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
