Join our team and spend your summer in a beautiful Provincial Park! We're seeking individuals who enjoy the outdoors and can work independently to oversee park operations in a small team setting. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to live on-site at the provincial park with fully furnished cabin-style accommodations provided, and all necessary skills will be taught. Prior experience is not required, but it is considered an asset.
Located just 40 minutes east of Prince George, Purden Lake offers a unique opportunity to live and work in the heart of British Columbia's beautiful wilderness while remaining close to Prince George. Purden's staff accommodation overlooks a little bay of the lake and has a private dock.
We offer cabin-style furnished accommodations, including beds, cooking basics, shower, stove, and fridge. You'll have the opportunity to live on-site full-time throughout the summer, with all accommodations and utilities provided free of charge. Purden Lake does not have cell service but offers free unlimited high-speed internet that can be used to make calls and other personal use. Purden Lake has an off the grid power system, with a propane fridge, stove, and hot water tank, solar battery bank for lights, internet and a generator back up. Approved pets allowed.
DURATION: July to September 24, must be availible to work in September
POSITION STATUS: 10 days on 4 days. The schedule is set for the entire summer upfront. 80 hours over the two weeks, approximately 8 hrs a day with an averaging agreement in place.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Janitorial (toilet and camping site cleaning, day-use cleaning etc.)
- Maintenance (mowing, painting, raking and tree trimming etc.)
- Public relations and safety
- Bookwork, collecting fees (daily and weekly records)
- All other duties as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Enjoyment of the outdoors
- Comfortable working in a physically active environment
- Experience in janitorial or maintenance an asset
- Ability to perform basic bookwork, and keep records
- Customer service and compliance skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to lift, move and carry up to 10 kg.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Criminal Record check is required for this position.
- A valid Driver’s License (N is fine)
- Access to a personal vehicle for transportation, to and from the shift, work vehicle provided at the location.
