We are looking for a dedicated, hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support our team across the country.
The Role
We are seeking an organized and approachable HR Generalist to manage Varcon's day-to-day HR operations. You will be the primary point of contact for our employees, ensuring smooth execution across recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations. We are expanding our footprint in critical infrastructure, and we need an adaptable HR Generalist to scale our daily operations and champion the people driving our growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment—from drafting postings to interviewing and extending offers—with a focus on engineering, project management, and operational roles. Coordinate and lead new hire onboarding.
- Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and workplace matters.
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, manage HR software systems, and handle routine HR paperwork (including offboarding).
- Benefits & Payroll Support: Administer employee group benefit programs, handle enrollments, and support payroll processing by tracking and verifying employee data.
- Compliance: Ensure all company policies and HR practices comply with Employment Standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Performance Management: Support leadership in executing regular performance review cycles and tracking employee development goals.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and standard HR practices.
- Experience working within or recruiting for the engineering, manufacturing, or construction sectors is an asset.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism in managing confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- CPHR designation or candidacy is considered an asset.
Pay: $62,500.00-$80,000.00 per year
