- Providing the Production Manager with feedback on crew members
- Assisting the Production Manager in the development and training of crew members
- Safety:
- Ensuring all crew members perform their work safely and in accordance with company policies
- Ensuring equipment is in good working order and receives appropriate preventative maintenance
- Logging equipment usage and maintenance cycles
- Provide guidance and a steady work-pace to the crew
- Perform various landscaping tasks (lawn care, pruning, bed work, planting, etc.)
- Operate and drive work trucks and trailers as required
- Provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service to clients as required by supervisor
- Ensure all Health & Safety and Clintar policies and procedures are consistently followed by crew, and report any concerns to the Supervisor
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold winter conditions
- Enter and maintain crew timesheets daily in LMN
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment and report any issues, damages, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum two-four years of practical experience in crew leader role for landscape maintenance
- One-two years of garden maintenance – cultivating, edging, pruning, dead heading, etc.
- Two or more years of experience in grass cutting and trimming
- Basic plant identification and care knowledge
- Valid G driver’s license required
- Level 1 First Aid required
- Horticulture Diploma an asset
- Pesticides license an asset
- Experience in a leadership role
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver timely results with minimal supervision
- Positive and professional team attitude
- Highly motivated and passionate about the business
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must frequently lift/or move up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to fifty pounds
- Physically fit and able to work on feet, bend down and/or crouch for long periods of time
- Physically fit and able to work through warm temperatures and long hours when necessary
- Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks
- The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate
- Hearing protection and all other PPE must be work in accordance with regulations
- As necessary to actively participate in the completion of the daily work schedule
