Calgary Piano Expressions is a group of dedicated piano teachers passionate about sharing their love of music with their students! We have a fun-first focus and commitment to excellence, and hire teachers who share that approach.
Location: in students' homes and/or teaching from your own private home studio in Calgary, Alberta.
Hours: Schedules are highly customizable and easily fit around other commitments. Our most in-demand days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30pm to 8pm. Lessons on Friday (around 1-7pm), Saturday (morning/afternoon), and Sunday (morning/afternoon) may also be possible. Schedules can be made to fit around university classes, work hours, or other regular commitments, and run from September to June. Hours in July and August may also be available but are optional.
Training and Community: We offer ongoing pedagogy and teaching question support, as well as yearly professional development and yearly staff appreciation event.
Teachers: We are looking for teachers who share our excitement for fun, professional piano teaching.
- Education: Minimum Grade 8 RCM piano certificate is required (or equivalent). Piano pedagogy certification and/or a diploma/degree in music is an asset.
- Experience: Experience teaching piano, working with children and adolescents, or related experience is an asset.
- Location: Please apply ONLY if currently living in the city of Calgary and surrounding area (or planning to relocate). This position typically requires traveling to student's homes; access to one's own vehicle is usually necessary for teaching in students' homes.
Successful candidates
Eligible candidates will be contacted for an interview. Starting pay depends on education and experiences, and there is extra travel pay on top of the hourly rate for in-home lessons.
