Environmental Health and Safety Advisor - Fort McMurray, AB
O.J. Industrial Maintenance is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor with hands-on experience in Oilsands. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of EHS technical capabilities and an understanding of business processes to help us and our clients proactively address all EHS risks and challenges.
O.J. Industrial Maintenance specializes in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of siphons, tailings lines, slurry lines and all light civil work for the oil industry. We focus on building strong relationships and providing both employee and customer satisfaction, while helping our clients meet their environment obligations. THIS WILL BE A NIGHT SHIFT ROTATION.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical assistance on EH&S-related compliance projects, safety management system implementation, and EH&S auditing
- Develop EH&S procedures, plans, and reports to support our clients' management systems and permitting processes
- Provide EH&S regulatory and best practices advisory services
- Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for safety performance improvement projects
- Effectively steward and build client relationships leading to repeat business.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated ability to interpret federal and provincial EH&S legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, MS Office computer, and analytical skills, as well as experience with writing comprehensive Job Hazard Analysis' and Safe Work Plans
- Preferred candidates will have an OH&S certificate, or NCSO designation or a related designation, along with field experience in a safety-related role.
The successful candidate should be local to the Fort McMurray Region. The EH&S Advisor will work closely with our EH&S Manager, Supervisors and operations personnel to meet or exceed our Client’s and OJIM's EH&S expectations.
