Job description
We are hiring for a Personal Support assistant/caregiver to assist with our son's daily Living . He is a 37yr old gentleman who has cerebral palsy, and uses a power wheelchair. Therefore, this position requires someone who has the strength, flexibility, and able to lift and transfer , Daily activates include driving me to appointments, university, social outings etc. A valid class 5F drivers license is a must! Going to Winnipeg Jets, Blue Bomber games etc.
Training will be provided for each candidate. We are hiring now for the following.
Day time caregiver starting at 8 am -4pm
The schedule right now is the Monday to Friday that we are hiring for.
You must commit to these day shifts.
If the right caregiver corresponds well ,is interactive and is a good fit for our son, this will be a permanent full time employment for the right candidate if they so choose. This posting is for a year round position!
If your a caregiver with part-time hrs and would want to make a change and switch to full time day shifts this could be your opportunity as well.

- Male Personal Support Worker preferred
- Starting wage is $19.50 + with wage increases pending experience.
- ( This wage is negotiable with your experience)
- You must be legally allowed to work in Canada
- Valid Class 5F driver's License is required .
- You must be able to provide satisfactory criminal record check, vulnerable sector check, and these should be no longer than 3 months old.
- You must have strong verbal and written communication skills and a willing desire to work.
- Your English must be clear, concise and easy for our son to understand you for ease of communication between both of you.
- You must be strong and flexible enough with adjusting me in my wheelchair, in bed, and transferring met to and from various positions. I weigh approximately 90 lbs.
- Assistance required with university classes to drive me to and from class and sit with me in class with my tutor that is provided.
- You must be comfortable assisting with all types of personal hygiene care, including dressing, feeding, meal planning/cooking and daily light house keeping skills.
