Compliance & Audit Specialist
Position Type: 9 Month Contract
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Compensation: $40/Hour to $50/Hour
We are partnering with a global leader in the automotive industry to recruit a Compliance & Audit Specialist. In this role, you will act as a key investigator and risk strategist, identifying sales anomalies and protecting the brand from unauthorized exports and reseller fraud. You will bridge the gap between data analytics and legal enforcement to ensure dealership integrity across North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigative Monitoring: Perform daily anomaly checks on sales data to flag red flags like "straw buyers," cash-only clusters, and out-of-province patterns.
- Asset Tracking: Monitor VIN movements and export signals using internal systems and OSINT to maintain a reseller watchlist.
- Audit & Review: Conduct deep-dive reviews of deal files for KYC evidence, non-export agreements, and documentation accuracy.
- Enforcement & Liaison: Assess policy violations, calculate penalties/chargebacks, and liaise with authorities like the CBSA on export inquiries.
- Reporting & Briefing: Maintain risk dashboards and author monthly reports for leadership on trends, sanctions exposure, and financial impact.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with IT to design AI/automation rules for pattern alerts and improved fraud detection.
Requirements:
- Experience: 4–7 years in Compliance, Audit, Fraud Investigation, or AML/KYC (Automotive or Financial Services experience is a plus).
- Education: Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel/PowerBI skills with a talent for pattern detection and evidence synthesis.
- Communication: Exceptional written skills for drafting formal non-compliance letters and executive briefs.
- Traits: High discretion, analytical mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
The indicated pay range is a good‑faith estimate based on required qualifications, experience, training, and other factors permitted by law. It reflects the pay band established by the client company. Actual offers may vary depending on skills, experience, geographic location, and expected work quality.
