Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Outdoor Food Counter Attendant to join our team at Jr's Picnic. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food, and maintaining a clean and organized outdoor food stand. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in an outdoor environment. Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided. This position offers an engaging work environment with opportunities to develop valuable skills in food handling, cashiering, and customer service.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of food items according to established standards and recipes
- Handle cash
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service, addressing questions and ensuring satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the food counter area.
- Restock supplies and organize the workspace for efficient operation during busy periods
- Set Up, clean up and prepare basic menu. (Hamburg, hot dogs, fries, poutine and lemonade)
- Uphold proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation.
Experience
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Handling Cash
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality and communication
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing sales totals
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
- Prior kitchen or food industry experience can be beneficial but is not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
Pay: $18.50 per hour
