Position Title: Gujarati Food Kitchen Runner
Department: Production Kitchen / Catering Operations
Reports To: Kitchen Supervisor / Production Manager
Position Summary
The Gujarati Food Kitchen Runner supports kitchen operations by transporting food, ingredients, equipment, and supplies between production areas, storage rooms, packaging stations, retail locations, and catering vehicles. This role helps ensure the smooth flow of operations while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Kitchen Support
- Transport prepared Gujarati foods, ingredients, and supplies throughout the kitchen and production facility.
- Deliver ingredients and packaging materials to production stations as needed.
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff by ensuring workstations remain stocked and organized.
- Move finished products to cooling, packaging, storage, or dispatch areas.
Catering & Delivery Preparation
- Assist with assembling catering orders and event packages.
- Load and unload catering equipment, food containers, and supplies.
- Verify that orders are complete before dispatch.
- Support event preparation and breakdown when required.
Inventory & Warehouse Assistance
- Receive deliveries and assist with organizing inventory.
- Stock shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
- Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures.
- Report shortages, damages, or inventory concerns to supervisors.
Cleaning & Organization
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen pathways, storage areas, and workstations.
- Remove waste, recycling, and empty containers promptly.
- Wash and sanitize trays, racks, containers, and equipment as assigned.
- Keep equipment and supplies organized and accessible.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Handle food products safely to prevent contamination.
- Comply with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen, food production, warehouse, or catering environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of Gujarati food products and ingredients is an asset.
- Fluent in Gujarati speaking
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety practices.

Working Conditions
- Commercial kitchen, warehouse, and catering environments.
- Exposure to hot equipment, cold storage areas, and busy production schedules.
- Early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

Pay: $17.20-$23.64 per hour
