Overview
We are seeking a skilled B Pressure Welder, an Apprentice Welder, and a Shop Hand to join our manufacturing team. This position offers an opportunity to develop welding expertise while supporting various shop operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with welding techniques, and experience with manufacturing and construction environments. All roles are paid positions, providing valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG TIG STICK welding on various metal components, including Piping and structural elements
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
- Operate and maintain shop tools such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment
- Assist with rigging, lifting, and positioning materials using cranes or forklifts to facilitate fabrication processes
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
- Support assembly of components according to schematics and specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Assist in the setup and operation of machinery involved in manufacturing processes
Requirements
- Prior experience or familiarity with MIG welding, TIG welding, Stick welding, plasma cutting, and blueprint reading is preferred; however, training will be provided for apprentices
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining, assembly, ductwork fabrication, and construction is advantageous
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment safely
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
- Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
