Carpenter / Installer
Full time – approx. 40 hours/week (M-F 7-3)
We are looking for a carpenter / installer that has experience with louvres, glazing, doors and door hardware.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Drive/travel to construction sites in the Lower Mainland
- Install a variety of metal and aluminum systems including doors, door hardware, louvres, storefront, and curtain wall
- Repair, troubleshoot, and retrofit existing openings and hardware
- Waterproofing (application of self adhesive membrane, sealant, gasketing, insulation, caulking, etc.)
- Work safely at different heights when required
- Verify/evaluate job site related documents
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Assist with assembly and glazing in the shop when required
Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- 4-5 years of experience working in construction and/or formal education (such as a degree, diploma, or certification from a trade school or other educational institution)
- Experience with doors, frames, architectural hardware is an asset
- Experience in the glazing trade is an asset
- Experience with low voltage systems and automated systems is an asset
- Forklift ticket is an asset
- Fall protection, scissor lift, boom lift certifications are an asset
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
- Possession of valid work permit or otherwise authorized to work in Canada is required
- Ability to read technical documents, such as shop drawings and installation instructions is an asset
- Excellent priority management and multitasking skills are critical
- Exceptional proficiency and communication skills in English (critical)
- Ability to work well under pressure, deal with a variety of options in complex situations, and solve difficult problems
- Ability to take the initiative, work autonomously and as part of a team
- Accuracy, attention to details
- Ability to lift more than 50 lb when required
- Willingness to occasionally travel outside of the lower mainland for multiple days is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
