Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight over long distances, ensuring timely and safe delivery while adhering to all regulations and safety standards. This role requires a commitment to excellence in driving and customer service, as well as the ability to handle various types of cargo.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across long distances.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Manage loading and unloading of freight, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Utilize heavy equipment as necessary for loading/unloading processes.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
Skills
- Minimum Experience of 1 year required.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations.
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor vehicle maintenance.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and remain focused during long hours on the road.
