Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis and plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, accurate order fulfillment, and smooth warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, shipping and receiving processes, and equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks. Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments using forklifts, reach trucks, or other warehouse equipment
- Receive incoming goods, verify quantities against purchase orders, and inspect for damages
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking orders accurately using order pickers and packing materials
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, and AS400 for inventory tracking and order processing
- Ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and receipts, updating the warehouse management system accordingly
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock organization within the warehouse
- Coordinate with carriers for timely pickups and deliveries
- Follow safety procedures during all loading, unloading, and storage activities
- Support warehouse distribution tasks to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles is preferred
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP systems, AS400 is a plus
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, or other industrial equipment safely (certification preferred)
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and order accuracy
- Experience with order fulfillment processes including order picking and packing
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and carriers
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and efficiency
