Home Share Opportunity: Open Your Home, Change a Life
Parksville, Qualicum Beach or surrounding areas: Deep Bay to Nanoose, Vancouver Island
We are looking for the right person, couple, or family to welcome a wonderful 32-year-old man into their home and share life together in a meaningful, long-term way.
This is more than a job — it’s a relationship, a lifestyle, and a chance to make a real difference in someone’s everyday life.

About Him:
He’s an active, healthy young man who genuinely enjoys being part of life. He participates in painting, playing piano and guitar, biking, swimming, running, going to the gym, and getting outside as much as possible.
He is typically happy, calm, and easy to be with. He thrives when the people around him provide structure, encouragement, and a steady, supportive presence.
He does have an intellectual disability and a significant communication challenge, so he relies on others for guidance, organization, and decision-making support—but he brings a lot of joy, willingness, and positivity to the people around him.

What This Looks Like:
You would be welcoming him into your home as part of your daily life—sharing meals, routines, and experiences together.
The goal is to create a home where he feels safe, included, and supported to live as fully and independently as possible.
This includes:
- providing structure, consistency, and a calm, organized environment
- supporting daily routines and life skills
- encouraging an active, healthy lifestyle
- helping him stay connected to community and activities he enjoys
- being a steady, positive presence in his life
You won’t be doing this alone—he has a team around him and spends time most days with other support people, and regular respite is built in.

- someone who values connection, patience, and consistency
- someone who lives an active, healthy lifestyle
- someone naturally organized and able to create a calm, structured home
Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is helpful, but just as important is the right attitude, openness, and willingness to learn.
