About Us
It Takes a Village Saturday Camp provides fun, engaging, and enriching experiences for children ages 4–12 every Saturday throughout the year.
Our programs focus on helping children learn, grow, build confidence, develop friendships, and have fun through sports, recreation, arts, STEM, cultural activities, social-emotional learning, leadership opportunities, and outdoor play.
We are seeking energetic, caring, and reliable individuals who are passionate about working with children and creating exceptional experiences for families.
Position Summary
Saturday Camp Facilitators are responsible for planning and leading engaging activities, ensuring children's safety and well-being, supporting positive behaviour, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children ages 4–12
- Facilitate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities
- Support children's social-emotional development
- Promote positive behaviour and conflict resolution
- Ensure children's safety at all times
- Set up and clean up activity spaces
- Maintain attendance and sign-in/sign-out procedures
- Communicate professionally with families and team members
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in child care, recreation, education, camps, youth programs, or community settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive, energetic, and professional attitude
- Commitment to creating inclusive and welcoming environments for all children
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
- Child and Youth Worker (CYW)
- Educational Assistant (EA)
- Recreation and Leisure Services
- Social Service Worker (SSW)
- Teacher or Teacher Candidate
- Post-secondary student in a related field
- Experience leading sports, arts, STEM, dance, cultural, or leadership programs
Requirements
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Reliable transportation to assigned program locations
