Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to support the development and well-being of young children in a classroom setting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and working with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities. The assistant will collaborate closely with lead teachers to create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment that promotes growth and learning.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Support children during activities such as play, arts and crafts, reading, and educational exercises
- Supervise children to ensure safety and promote positive behavior
- Help facilitate social interactions among children to foster teamwork and communication skills
- Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining a clean learning environment
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance
- Engage with parents and guardians during pick-up and drop-off times to share updates on children's progress
Skills
- Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to work well with children of various ages and developmental levels
- Knowledge of basic math concepts suitable for early learners
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development
- Ability to follow instructions, collaborate as part of a team, and adapt to dynamic classroom environments
