Granville Island Veterinary Hospital is looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Technician Assistant (TA) to join our amazing team!
As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians while helping provide exceptional care to our patients and outstanding service to their families. Whether you're already working in veterinary medicine or looking to start your career, we'd love to hear from you.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians and RVTs with patient restraint during examinations and treatments
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring under the supervision of veterinary professionals
- Care for hospitalized patients, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and providing comfort
- Monitor patients and promptly communicate any changes to the medical team
- Maintain clean, organized treatment areas, kennels, and hospital equipment
- Support client care and education under the guidance of veterinary staff
- Assist with administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling and medical records
- Work alongside a supportive team to ensure the highest standard of patient care

Previous veterinary experience is an asset but is not required. We are happy to train the right candidate who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and excited to grow in the veterinary field.
Weekend availability is required.
