Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities within the meat/deli department, including stocking, pricing, and merchandising.
- Lead hiring, training, and development of team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service standards.
- Manage purchasing and inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste, to achieve productivity targets.
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote meat products through in-store displays and special promotions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, staff, and customers effectively while fostering a positive shopping experience.
Experience
- Proven supervising or management experience preferably in retail or food service environments, preferably within a meat department.
- Meat cutting experience considered an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques.
- Experience with budgeting.
- Strong organizational skills combined with time management expertise to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for training staff, conducting interviews, and providing outstanding customer service.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs and ability to stand for prolonged hours.
