Empringham Disposal is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Class 1 roll off driver to join our team. Our team provides a full range of solid waste and recycling solutions, including municipal collection, roll‑off container service, commercial front‑load programs, and waste transfer operations.
Key Responsibilities
Collections & Driving
- Operate roll‑off collection vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Complete assigned bin delivery and pickup.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Safely load, unload, and transport waste and recyclable materials to designated disposal or processing facilities.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
Customer Service
- Interact professionally with customers, responding to questions or concerns in a courteous manner.
- Report missed pickups, blocked containers, or contamination issues to dispatch or supervisors.
- Maintain a positive and professional company image while working in the community.
Operational Duties
- Record route information, load weights, and service issues using company systems or route sheets.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or route challenges.
- Assist with container delivery, removal, or replacement as required.
- Support occasional special collection events or seasonal programs.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements and safe lifting practices.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks.
- Report incidents, near misses, or injuries promptly and accurately.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal transportation regulations.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence
- Clean driver’s abstract with a strong safety record.
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience operating waste collection vehicles.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.

Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Early morning start times; overtime or weekend work may be required.
- Frequent lifting, climbing, bending, and walking.
- Operation of heavy vehicles and exposure to traffic and waste materials.
- Steel toed boots are required. This is considered a safety-sensitive position
