Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Carpenters Assistant to support our construction and renovation projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, reliable, and capable of assisting skilled carpenters with a range of tasks on-site. Prior construction experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific duties. This position plays a vital role in ensuring project efficiency and quality, contributing to a wide array of projects including framing, restoration, cabinetry, and more.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support project execution.
- Support the installation of cabinetry, flooring, tile laying, siding, roofing, and other carpentry-related tasks.
- Prepare and handle hand tools, power tools, and CNC equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, and other foundational tasks as needed.
- Support restoration projects by performing demolition, surface preparation, or finishing work.
- Aid in the assembly of structures or components using hand tools and power tools.
- Participate in heavy lifting and material movement to ensure smooth workflow on-site.
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Support plumbing, electrical work, caulking, painting, or other trades as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain a clean work environment and assist with site organization throughout the project duration.
Skills
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and schematics.
- Experience with concrete forming, masonry, rebar installation, roofing, siding, or related trades is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction and woodworking.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery or manufacturing processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction estimating or project schematics is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety compliance.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Previous handyman experience or general construction background is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
