Location: REMOTE from Canada with a preference in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
Salary: $165,000 - $195,000 CAD + annual bonus + equity
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong backend or platform engineering background
- Proven experience building and owning production systems end-to-end
- Experience building and operating systems at scale
- High availability, low latency, or large data volume systems, with evidence of performance tuning and optimization
- Strong system design and architectural thinking
- Ability to clearly articulate architecture, tradeoffs, and design decisions; focuses on how systems work, not just outputs
- Direct experience with agentic systems or workflow orchestration
- Multi-step execution, tool usage, memory management, coordination, and control of complex workflows
- Experience with LLM engineering in production systems
- Practical experience integrating and operating LLMs within applications, tool integration, and performance considerations
- Experience with evaluation, monitoring, and reliability for agentic systems
- Designing metrics, test harnesses, and performance tracking for multi-step workflows
- Experience with Agentic AI safety, guardrails, or governance systems
- Implementing controls such as policy enforcement, access boundaries, and safe execution mechanisms
- Experience building underlying systems that support Agentic AI
- Orchestration layers, execution frameworks, or platform components enabling agent-driven workflows
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
- Microservices, infrastructure, and deep experience with AWS or similar platforms
Nice to Have
- Experience building reusable platforms or shared systems
- Systems designed for adoption across multiple teams, with scalability and maintainability in mind
Pay: $85,212.06-$177,353.19 per year
