We are expanding our team and looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys leading projects from start to finish. This position is a permanent leadership role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
As our Lead Carpenter, you will:
- Lead residential renovation projects from start to finish
- Read and interpret construction drawings and layouts
- Perform high-quality framing, carpentry, finishing, and general renovation work
- Coordinate subcontractors and manage daily site activities
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Ensure projects meet company quality standards and timelines
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and clients
- Train, mentor, and support junior carpenters and apprentices
- Identify potential issues before they become problems and provide practical solutions
- Submit regular project progress updates to management
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who has:
- Minimum 5 years of residential renovation experience
- Strong skills in framing, finish carpentry, and general renovations
- Experience independently managing residential job sites
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors and multiple trades
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Professional attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
- Valid Ontario driver's license with reliable transportation
- Carpentry apprenticeship, Red Seal certification, or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Working at Heights certification (preferred)
- Health & Safety training (preferred)
- WHMIS certification (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
- CA$28.00–CA$35.00 per hour, depending on experience
