Your Role
- Carry out therapy sessions under the supervision of an SLP, using a child-led and strengths-based approach.
- Prepare engaging materials and session plans tailored to each child’s interests and goals.
- Collaborate with families and team members to support generalization of communication skills.
- Maintain accurate session notes and follow ethical and professional standards.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized Communication Disorders Assistant program.
- Experience working with children, ideally including autistic or other neurodivergent individuals.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (sessions will occur in the community and/or home settings).
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
Experience is helpful, but openness is essential.
While direct experience working with neurodivergent children is an asset, it is not a requirement. We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn, open to feedback, and committed to supporting children with diverse learning styles and communication needs. Training and ongoing support will be provided.
