THE ROLE
Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Mental Health, the Military Family Services Program Specialist will play an important role in the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Military Family Services Mental Health Portfolio. This includes supporting national efforts to strengthen service consistency, governance, and evidence-informed practice.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in trauma-informed mental health program design and quality improvement, including familiarity with standardization across service settings, measurement-based care, and the development of frameworks, tools, and clinical or psychosocial service models. Experience supporting professional development initiatives, supervision models, or workforce capacity-building is considered a strong asset.
This position will also play an important role in helping military families access emergency childcare needed to navigate the unexpected pressures of military life, whether preparing for a posting, adjusting for a deployment or facing a tight local childcare market, you will help parents understand their childcare options and make confident, informed decisions.
As part of the Military Family Service team, you will support national initiatives that improve access to childcare for CAF families, providing clear information, available options, and timely support when it matters most. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and community partners to build a coordinated network of supports. Your work will inform broader system improvements, highlight emerging needs, and contribute to strategic outcomes that enhance the resilience of military families. We are looking for a compassionate, resourceful, and proactive individual who can guide families through complex systems, build strong partnerships, and deliver impactful initiatives.
