ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Corporate Controller will play a key leadership role in managing the organization’s financial reporting, consolidation, and corporate accounting functions. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about accuracy, process improvement, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related expenses
- Manage consolidation processes across multiple corporate entities
- Analyze financial results and prepare variance reporting against budget
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and controls
- Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting disclosures
- Support regulatory and external reporting requirements (e.g., CRA, Ministry of Health)
- Liaise with external auditors and coordinate audit activities
- Prepare and deliver covenant reporting in accordance with loan agreements
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process across corporate entities
- Partner with department leaders to develop forecasts and financial projections
- Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and challenge assumptions
- Provide insights into cash flow, financial trends, and covenant performance
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to members of the Finance team
- Collaborate with internal teams and peers to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and streamlining reporting practices
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and support organizational goals
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation (required)
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial reporting and accounting within Canada, including ASPE
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial best practices
- Experience with consolidation and multi-entity reporting
- Previous experience in the seniors living or healthcare sector is an asset

Additional Information
All team members are expected to comply with company policies, health and safety standards, and required training programs
This role offers a base salary range of $95,000-$125,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
