Job Summary
Mercator is an exploration services company that assists clients on exploration projects throughout North America. We are currently seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Senior/Project Geologist's to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geology, with expertise in drilling management, core logging, sampling and QAQC protocols. Only candidates currently able to work in Canada need apply. This role involves work in remote locations on a rotational basis, where you will be providing core logging services for our clients following industry standard practices.
What you'll be doing
- Running drill programs in the field — rig supervision, core logging, hole planning, QA/QC
- Sample dispatch, database integrity, daily client reporting
- Working alongside our QPs on targeting, geological modelling, and follow-up programs
- Mentoring junior loggers and core technicians on rotation
What we're looking for
- P.Geo. (or P.Geo.-eligible in a Canadian jurisdiction)
- 5+ years on exploration drill programs, with at least a couple leading them
- Comfortable in remote camps, long days and rotational settings
- Sharp on Leapfrog / Surpac / Datamine / Vulcan (one or more), tight field notes, zero shortcuts on QA/QC
- Eastern Canadian experience is an asset, not a requirement
