Le Petit Écolier French Language Centre is looking for a professional, organized, and experienced Centre Coordinator & Lead French Teacher to support the daily operations, teaching quality, parent experience, and overall standards of our Oakville French centre.
This is a hands-on coordination and teaching role for someone who is both operationally strong and confident teaching French to children. The Centre Coordinator & Lead French Teacher will work closely with the Director to ensure that the centre runs smoothly, families are well supported, and all programs reflect the standards and vision of Le Petit Écolier.
This role is especially important during our summer camp season, where the Centre Coordinator & Lead French Teacher will help support the French instructional component of the camp, teach French classes, support other teaching staff, and help ensure a smooth, safe, organized, and engaging experience for students.

Le Petit Écolier is a French language centre offering French classes, private lessons, group programs, and French immersion camp experiences for children. We are known for our small-group environment, warm approach, and personalized learning experience.
We are looking for someone who can help protect the quality of our programs while supporting the continued growth and organization of the centre.
Key Responsibilities
Centre Coordination
- Support the daily flow and organization of the centre.
- Welcome families and maintain a professional parent experience.
- Respond to parent inquiries and provide clear program information.
- Support registrations, scheduling, class preparation, and daily organization.
- Ensure classrooms and learning spaces are clean, prepared, and ready for students.
- Communicate important updates to the Director.
- Help maintain a calm, organized, and professional learning environment.
French Teaching & Program Quality
- Teach French classes to children or adults as part of the weekly schedule.
- Lead or support French lessons during summer camp.
- Ensure lessons are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with Le Petit Écolier’s standards.
- Support teachers with classroom flow, materials, and program expectations.
- Provide feedback on student progress when needed.
- Help maintain a strong French immersion environment.
- Assist with lesson preparation, materials, and student grouping when required.
Summer Camp Support
- Help implement the daily French summer camp program.
- Teach or co-teach French instructional blocks.
- Support daily student routines, activities, and transitions.
- Help organize materials, activities, and student groupings.
- Work closely with teachers and camp staff to ensure a structured and positive camp experience.
- Help maintain safety, professionalism, and strong communication with families.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Native-level or near-native fluency in French, with the ability to teach children confidently in a French immersion environment.
- Strong English communication skills for parent communication, team coordination, and daily centre operations.
- Experience teaching, leading, or supporting children in an educational, camp, tutoring, or language-learning environment.
- Ability to work in person at our Oakville centre and commute reliably to the Halton Region.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Professional, organized, reliable, and comfortable working closely with the Director to maintain the standards and vision of Le Petit Écolier.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a French school, language centre, tutoring centre, camp, or similar children’s educational setting.
- Experience coordinating programs, supporting daily operations, or helping manage a small educational team.
- Strong understanding of how to make French learning engaging, structured, and age-appropriate for children.
- Experience communicating professionally with parents about programs, student progress, schedules, or centre expectations.
- Ability to support lesson preparation, classroom organization, student grouping, and program materials.

Schedule Requirements
- Approximately 30–40 hours per week, depending on the season.
- Strong availability required during the summer camp period.
- Some evening and Saturday availability required.
- This is an in-person role at our Oakville centre.
