Duties:
- Manage inventory and communicate inventory needs with baking team
- preparation of dough for pies, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes
- Scale and follow recipes created by chefs
- Frost and decorate cakes, including tiered wedding cakes
- Proficient with fondant and gumpaste work
- Comfortable flooding cookies/cookie decorating is considered an asset
- Ensure quality of products meets established standards
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by clearing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2 - 5 years experience as a pastry chef/baker
- Food Handler’s Certificate an asset
- A team player with good communication skills
- Organized with excellent attention to detail
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Very good physical condition and endurance
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
Details:
- Full time position, work hours typically 8 am - 4 pm but are flexible and may vary/be extended according to season
- Hourly wage $20 - 22, depending on experience
- Opportunity to work off premise event shifts if qualified, hourly $25 - $30/hr
- We are open 7 days a week so candidate must be available to work weekends
