About Us
Tiny Bites Catering prepares nutritious, kid-friendly meals for daycare centres across Ottawa. We are seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant to support kitchen operations and uphold high standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist in ingredient prep: washing, chopping, measuring
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, and surfaces
- Pack deliveries, label items, and manage inventory
- Help with kitchen setup and breakdown, including light meal assembly
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines per Ottawa Public Health
- Participate in occasional menu prep or special-event tasks

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen or similar food-prep environment
- Valid Food Handler Certification (or must obtain before start); having a certified handler onsite at all times is a legal requirement in Ontario
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Have a reliable personal car
