Overview
Wapiti Gravel is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman/Red Seal Mechanic to join our team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. We pride ourselves on our competitive wages, comprehensive benefit plans and pension matching.
What you'll do:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including pavers, loaders, and excavators.
- Diagnose and service mechanical and electronic systems, including air brakes and transmissions.
- Conduct routine checks and adjustments on fluid levels, hoses, belts, and tires.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely repairs.
- Work in a safe manner, complying with all safety policies.
- Other opportunities as they arise.
Hours and Schedule
- Peak Season (March-October): Monday to Friday, and every second Saturday. 10 hour shifts.
- Off Season (November-March): Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts.
- Work is completed in a mix of shop settings and occasional field work which is located nearby Grande Prairie. Most field work is completed in the day, not requiring overnight trips away from home.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or Red Seal
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
