Job Duties

Follow up with lead instructor regarding lab plans for the days, prepare the room and supplies prior to the start time and cleanup afterwards, teach and demonstrate related skills, provide scenarios and answer student’s questions, complete performance skill testing as required, submit any required paperwork to Continuing Education.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Description

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Level II Dental Assisting Program.
Current License to practice Dental Assisting in Saskatchewan.
Graduate of an Orthodontics Module.
Min. 2 years recent and relevant (2 years within the last 5 years) dental assisting experience in a dental office.
Comprehensive knowledge of current orthodontic dental assisting principles and techniques.
Recent experience in teaching orthodontic assisting skills and/or a recent experience of performing orthodontic assisting skills in a clinical environment.
Ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners with the required knowledge and skills.
Strong computer skills.
Experience facilitating online courses.
Preference will be given to current Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty.
Demonstrates valuing diversity.
