Overview
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, punctuality, and professionalism are paramount. Candidates must be comfortable with heavy lifting and driving over various routes, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Shift Details
- Hours: 11:30 PM to 10:00 AM (Typical shift finishes early around 8:00 AM on normal workdays).
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (5-ton straight truck) to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and secure placement.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimize travel time.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch or clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- License Requirement: Valid Ontario DZ driver’s license preferred. Candidates with a standard G license will be considered only if they have over 3 years of commercial driving experience and a clean abstract.
- Experience: Proven experience operating a 5-ton straight truck or large commercial vehicles.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of Ontario traffic laws, route planning, and safety regulations.
- Traits: Reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Pay: $180.00-$200.00 per day
