Astra Energy Ltd. is a growing electrical contractor specializing in high-quality residential and light commercial electrical installations throughout Ottawa and the surrounding area.
We are looking for an experienced Red Seal (309A) Licensed Electrician who takes pride in producing exceptional workmanship, leads by example, and is capable of independently managing projects from start to finish.
This position is not intended for someone who requires constant supervision or direction. We are looking for an electrician who can arrive on site, assess the work, organize the job, lead apprentices when required, communicate professionally with clients, and complete projects to a high standard with minimal involvement from management.

Responsibilities:
- Complete residential and light commercial electrical installations from rough-in through final completion.
- Lead projects independently with minimal supervision.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and electrical layouts.
- Coordinate material requirements and job sequencing.
- Supervise apprentices and ensure quality workmanship.
- Diagnose and complete residential and commercial service calls.
- Install and troubleshoot:
- Residential and commercial rough-ins
- Custom homes
- Multi-unit residential buildings
- Service upgrades and panel replacements
- EV chargers
- Standby generators
- Solar (PV) systems
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (ESS)
- Low-voltage wiring (network, communications, security)
- Lighting systems and controls
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders and project managers.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean, presentable and well stocked van.
- Complete work that consistently meets or exceeds Ontario Electrical Safety Code requirements.
Qualifications:
- 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician (Red Seal)
- Minimum 5 years of residential and commercial experience as a licensed electrician
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable leading apprentices and coordinating work on site
- Ability to plan work efficiently while maintaining productivity and quality
