Position
Damage Prevention Technician (Underground Utility Locator)
Responsibilities
- Perform underground utility locates using electromagnetic locating equipment.
- Interpret utility maps and construction drawings.
- Mark underground utilities in accordance with industry standards.
- Complete accurate digital reports, sketches, and photographs.
- Communicate professionally with contractors, homeowners, and utility owners.
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment.
- Work safely while following all company and industry safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous underground utility locating or damage prevention experience.
- Experience with electromagnetic locating equipment and GPS/GIS mapping.
- Knowledge of Alberta One-Call and utility locating standards.
- CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Ground Disturbance Level II, and H2S Alive are considered assets.
