This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Technician to join a collaborative service team in Mississauga, Ontario. Key Responsibilities
As the Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty truck and trailer equipment while ensuring customer support and technical expertise.
Equipment Diagnostics & Repair
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment to ensure timely and accurate repairs.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and component replacements on engines, drive trains, braking systems, suspension systems, and after treatment systems.
- Assemble equipment components safely and efficiently while maintaining manufacturer and company standards.
- Conduct Road tests and operational checks to verify equipment performance and ensure successful repairs.
Technical Troubleshooting & Documentation
- Utilize diagnostic software, computer systems, and specialized tools to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Accurately document inspections, diagnostics, repairs completed, parts used, and labour hours on work orders and service reports.
- Use electronic systems and parts catalogues to identify and source required parts and materials.
Safety & Operational Excellence
- Follow all company safety policies, field service procedures, and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Continually assess worksite hazards and ensure all work is completed in accordance with safe work practices.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with service advisors, parts personnel, and fellow technicians to support efficient service operations and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing technical knowledge and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Successful completion of 310T Certificate of Qualification Exam is required.
- Certified Journeyperson status in the Truck and Coach Technician trade is required.
- Previous experience working in a heavy-duty truck, transport, or shop service environment is preferred.
- Experience working with CAT, Cummins, and PACCAR engines is considered an asset.
- Experience diagnosing electrical systems and aftertreatment systems is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck and trailer systems.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools, computer systems, and electronic service documentation.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and related shop equipment.
- Familiarity with OEM service procedures, maintenance standards, and repair documentation practices is an asset.
