Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced SMAW & TIG Welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work. This position offers a variety of shop fabrication and field installation projects, making every week a little different.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, reading drawings, and delivering quality welds while contributing to a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform SMAW (Stick) and TIG welding on a variety of materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble structural steel and custom metal components
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and other shop equipment
- Assist with installation and field welding as required
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards
- Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with the fabrication team to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- Experience with SMAW and TIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift materials and work in both shop and field environments
Preferred Qualifications
- CWB welding tickets (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with FCAW and/or GMAW (MIG)
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, press brakes, or plasma tables
- Experience in structural steel fabrication and installation
