Monday to Friday - Full time
This role supports the delivery of speech and language intervention services under the supervision of a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). CDA/SLPA work directly with children to implement individualized communication programs designed to strengthen speech, language, social communication, and early literacy skills. Responsibilities
- Implement speech and language therapy programs as designed and directed by the supervising SLP.
- Complete accurate and timely SOAP notes following each therapy session, documenting client performance, progress toward goals, and clinical observations as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Work one-on-one with children to support communication goals.
- Prepare, organize, and adapt therapy materials and resources as needed.
- Support the development of speech, language, social communication, and play skills.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and positive therapy environment for all clients.
- Reports directly to a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Requirements
- Completion of a Communication Disorder Assistant (CDA) diploma or equivalent post-secondary education in speech.
- Experience working with children with speech, language, or communication needs is an asset.
- Familiarity with developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or other exceptionalities is preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow therapy plans accurately and work effectively under supervision
- This position requires the employee to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the workplace
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
